How to Order Prescription Smart Glasses Online

To order prescription smart glasses, choose an eligible frame, supply your eyeglass prescription and select the lens design, material and finish. This walkthrough follows that process, from gathering measurements to reviewing your finished pair.

What to have ready

  • Your current eyeglass prescription, with the patient's name and prescription details clearly readable.
  • Your pupillary distance measurement, or a plan to obtain the measurements the lens provider needs.
  • A well-fitting pair of glasses to use as a size reference.
  • A decision about the main viewing task: everyday distance, reading or a prescribed multifocal arrangement.
  • The phone model and services you intend to use with the glasses.

An eyeglass prescription is the relevant document. Do not substitute a contact-lens prescription or copy values from memory. A cropped photo that omits one eye or a handwritten note without context can make the order harder to verify.

1. Confirm the exact frame offers prescription customization

Open the product page and look for “Choose your lenses.” Prescription customization is offered on eligible listings, including standard Reebok Nitrous Black and Gold Mirror. Nitrous Shift and Octane Shift currently come with non-prescription lenses only.

If the customization you need is missing, contact SmartRx with the frame name and your lens requirements.

2. Check fit before entering lens details

Compare the frame dimensions and shape with glasses that already feel comfortable. An online image is useful for style, but it cannot confirm bridge contact, pressure behind the ears or the position of the frame when you look down.

For progressive lenses in particular, ask how any required fitting measurements will be obtained for the frame. General face-size descriptions do not replace measurements. Our frame-size guide explains which dimensions are useful and why a single number does not determine fit.

3. Choose the vision need represented by your prescription

Choose the vision need that matches your prescription: distance, reading or a prescribed multifocal design. For progressive orders, select the design before moving on to material and finish.

Single vision does not automatically mean distance vision: a single-vision prescription may be written for a particular working distance. Likewise, an ADD value is not a number to combine with other prescription values without guidance. If you are unsure what a document is intended for, ask the prescribing professional.

4. Supply the prescription carefully

Where an upload option is offered, use a clear image of the complete document. If entering details manually, compare every field against it before continuing. Pay special attention to plus and minus signs and to keeping the right-eye and left-eye entries separate.

Common fields to verify against the original prescription
Field Review step
SPH Check the value and its sign for each eye
CYL and AXIS Preserve the values exactly when they are supplied
ADD Enter it only where required for the prescribed lens design
PD Use the measurement format requested by the provider

If the form cannot represent the prescription, including a special notation or prism requirement, stop and ask how it should be handled. An unexplained blank and a value of zero are not interchangeable choices.

5. Resolve PD and additional measurements

PD describes the spacing needed to position lens optical centers relative to the eyes. Some prescriptions or providers use a single binocular value; others use separate values for each eye. Supply the format requested, and do not guess a missing number from a general average.

Progressive orders can require fitting-height measurements as well as PD. Ask SmartRx how to supply these for the frame you have chosen.

6. Choose material, features and coatings

Work through the available lens package, feature, tint and coating choices. Ask what problem each upgrade solves for your routine. A sun tint, polarization and photochromic behavior address different needs, and availability can depend on the lens package or frame.

Do not use a lens illustration as a prediction of your exact finished lens thickness. The prescription, material, lens shape and frame all contribute to the result. If thickness is a priority, ask about the combination rather than choosing the highest-index option by default.

For outdoor use, read our smart-sunglasses lens guide. For budget planning, use the cost guide before comparing differently configured carts.

7. Review the complete pair and total price

Check the frame name, color, vision need, prescription method, lens package, features, tint and coatings in the review step. Then confirm the cart contains the intended customization and that the displayed total reflects those selections. A product-card price is not necessarily the price of a complete prescription pair.

Review the SmartRx return policy and warranty before completing the purchase.

8. Set up the electronics after you receive the glasses

Read the model's charging and pairing instructions before using it. Follow the controls specified for that family; gestures can vary across product lines. Make a short test call in a quiet setting, check playback routing and choose an appropriate listening level.

If something about the vision or fit feels wrong, contact the provider with a clear description rather than repeatedly bending a frame containing electronics. Keep your order information and the supplied instructions available so support can identify the exact product and configuration.

FAQs

What do I need before ordering prescription smart glasses?

Prepare your current eyeglass prescription, required measurements and a suitable frame shortlist. Keep the complete prescription document readable if using an upload.

Can I use my contact-lens prescription?

Do not substitute it for an eyeglass prescription. Ask your prescribing professional for the appropriate document for the lenses you are ordering.

How do I handle a missing PD?

Ask your provider or SmartRx what measurement is required and how to obtain it. Do not insert an average or guess a missing value.

What should I do if the form does not match my prescription?

Contact SmartRx before completing the order. Do not alter signs, omit a special requirement or put an unexplained value into a different field.

Do included sun lenses determine my prescription lens features?

No. Confirm the properties of the custom package you select, including tint, UV protection and any requested polarization or photochromic behavior.
